Oval Pendant - Saint Kevin of Glendalough
[JWPD-STKEVIN/OVAL]

Patron of Dublin, Ireland, blackbirds, and a long life

Kevin was born to nobility in Ireland, and known there as ?Co?emgen,? which means ?gentle one.? He became a hermit in Glendalough and founded the rst monastery there. Once, while he held his arms outstretched in silent prayer, a blackbird landed in his open hand, built a small nest and laid its eggs. The gentle hermit held that position in stillness until the edglings hatched. Reportedly, St.Kevin lived to be 120 years old.
