These pipes are made out of hard rock maple wood, which can be stained either dark or light color. The drones are contained in the cannister and tuned with "shuttles" on the drone, hence the name. The sound of the pipe is very mellow, suitable for playing indoors. There are three drones on this pipe, tuned to the low A on the chanter, the E below that low A, and the A below the low A.
