Oval Pendant - Saint Columba
[JWPD-STCOLUMBA/OVAL]

Patron of Ireland, Scotland, poets, and bookbinders

Columba, also known as Columcille, was in close succession to the throne of Ireland, but chose instead to become a monk. He was a missionary, statesman, scholar, and poet. He was one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland and is said to have performed many miracles to convert the Picts to Christ. He died at the age of 75 and was buried at the abbey he founded in Scotland. His relics are revered in both Ireland and Scotland where he is equally beloved.
