Practice Chanters

Practice chanters are used throughout a piper's career - the beginning piper learns the basic fingering on the practice chanter before graduating to the full bagpipe, and the experienced piper still does exercises and learns new tunes on the practice chanter.

The McCallum Regular Polypenco practice chanter has holes that have the traditional practice chanter spacing. The holes are countersunk to make them easier to feel. The chanter is easy to reed and has a very nice tone and feel. The McCallum polypenco chanters all have a nice matte finish that is more pleasant than the smooth plastic on many polypenco practice chanters. Chanters with the traditional imitation ivory sole also come with a ferrule made of imitation ivory or nickel.
